Civ Research: Digital Resources (Spring): Home

E-books and other sources to assist students needing online/ off-campus research.

How to research as deeply as Western Civ requires

when off-campus, away from the Library?

OBU's Western Civ courses strive to help students see how Western Culture has asked and answered "the big questions of life" over time, and how that shapes the world we live in (Bosch, Debbie, in "Rise of Western Civilization," Fall 2015).

That's a lot of work.

This guide is a jumping-off point for students needing off-campus Civ resources. All resources are e-books and articles available digitally through the OBU Library website.

"The Rise of Western Civilization" (Fall 2015). OBU Magazine.

Getting a "Sorry, in use" message?

Try refreshing the webpage before you give up!

Some e-books limit how many users can view them at the same time, but sometimes the website's just "confused" because someone just closed the file and another person somewhere else just opened it. Try hitting "refresh" before moving on.

Finding e-books & other distance-friendly resources:

* Search by keyword, author or title through Zip!Bang! on the Library website.

* Filter results by format as seen here (appears to the left of results list).

* If desired format(s) aren't visible, use "Show More" link to see all format options.
