Pioneer Library System

The Pioneer Library System is made up of several hometown public libraries within Cleveland, McClain, and Pottawatomie counties. The closest public library to the OBU campus is the Shawnee Public Library.

You may be wondering what services can the Pioneer Library System provide for me? You may be suprised! Check out the links below.

How to Get a Library Card

All OBU students, faculty and staff are eligible for a free Pioneer Library System library card. It is very easy to apply.

There are two types of library cards available:

1. Virtual Library Card

This provides access to online materials (databases, ebooks, music downloads) only.

Click here to apply online for a virtual library card.

2. Traditional Library Card

This provides access to online materials as well as books and DVDs inside the hometown libraries.

You can begin applying for the traditional library card here. It will be mailed to you and activated upon your first visit to the library. You may also opt to visit the library and fill out an application in person and receive your card that day.
